Altered Clipboard

Altered Clipboard

by Beate Johns
Turn an ordinary clipboard into a work of art and a perfect gift!

Supplies

  • Clipboard
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Craft Ink
  • Mod Podge™ [ buy it ]
  • Designer Paper
  • Ribbon and other accessories to decorate
  • Bigger stamps
  • Penny
  • Foam Brush

Step-by-Step

  1. Step 1

Pour some acrylic paint on your clipboard.
  2. Step 2

Start brushing the paint all over your board with your foam brush.
  3. Continue until you have an even layer of color. Add more ink if neccessary. Use your pennyto keep the the clip open so you can color underneath.
  4. Step 3

Make sure your acrylic paint is all dry before proceeding. Stamp your images with craft ink.

Variation: Ink up your stamp with foam brush and acrylic paint instead.
  5. Step 4

Continue to add images to your clipboard.
  6. Step 5

After your ink has dried, attach designer paper to the bottom of the clipboard. I usedMod Podge™ for that. Trim the corners with scissors.

Variation: Stamp your paper before proceeding to step six.
  7. Step 6

Add a thin layer of Mod Podge over the entire board and allow it to dry. If it remains sticky, spray the board with acrylic sealer.

Variation: Don't apply Mod Podge™. Spray acrylic sealer over the board instead.
  8. Step 7

Finish by decorating your clipboard withribbons, hodgepodge hardware and/or other accessories.
